How to brew delicious coffee with a Chemex coffee maker?
Brewing coffee with a Chemex is simple, here's how:

  1. Heat water to around 90-96 degrees Celsius.
  2. Place a Chemex coffee filter (specifically designed for Chemex 3 cups) in the upper part of the funnel, and moisten the filter with hot water. This removes the paper taste from the filter and also warms up the coffee pot.
  3. Grind the coffee beans; you want a medium-coarse grind - similar to coarse sea salt.
  4. Measure about 27g of coffee and pour it into the moistened filter.
  5. Start the brewing process by pouring a small amount of the hot water over the ground coffee and let it bloom for about 30 seconds. This helps release carbon dioxide and improves coffee extraction.
  6. Then pour the rest of the hot water in a circular motion over the coffee, making sure to cover it evenly. Let the water pass through the coffee and filter into the pot.
  7. Once all the water has passed through the filter, you can remove and discard it.
  8. The coffee is ready to be served directly from the elegant Chemex carafe.
